Be Faithful Where You Are
The Christian Professional Journal is here to offer faith-based insights and encouragement to help you navigate work and life with purpose. Together, we’ll explore how to keep Faith First, Excellence Always, as we grow and walk boldly in God’s calling.
Some Scriptures stir us gently. Others awaken us with purpose.
1 John 2:15–17 does both. It reminds us that our hearts were made for more than this passing world. It invites us to live fully in what is eternal.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15–17.
When we align our lives with His will, we step into real peace, real freedom, and real joy.
This Is the Time to Flourish in Faith
Know that you were not made to drift through a fading world. You were made to flourish in truth. To live awake. To be filled with purpose and guided by the Father’s love.
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2
And if you're in the corporate or business world, this message hits home in a unique way.
The life God calls us to is about realigning our purpose within it. You can be a faithful steward of influence without being mastered by ambition. You can be excellent in your field without idolizing the spotlight.
When your identity is rooted in Christ, success becomes a platform to serve, not a pressure to perform.
Live Set Apart in Every Sphere
Living set apart doesn't mean leaving the professional or business world. It means walking through it with clarity, humility, and eternal perspective. It means leading with integrity, treating others with the dignity of Christ, and using your gifts to glorify Him.
Your achievements may open doors, but it’s your character shaped by Christ that sustains you there.
Let the world see that success doesn’t own you, Jesus does.
How to Know God's Will for Your Life
One of the most frequently asked questions among believers is this: "How do I know God's will for my life?" It’s an important question, but often we look for a specific assignment when God is inviting us into a deeper relationship.
Knowing God’s will starts with knowing God.
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
As you spend time in Scripture, prayer, worship, and obedience, God begins to align your heart with His. His will becomes clearer through transformation.
Here are a few biblical steps to discern God’s will:
Stay in the Word: God’s will never contradicts His Word (Romans 12:2)
Be surrendered: A yielded heart will be guided by the Holy Spirit (Proverbs 3:5–6)
Seek wise counsel: God often speaks through godly leaders and mentors (Proverbs 11:14)
Look at your gifts and burdens: What has God uniquely placed in your heart to carry? (1 Peter 4:10)
Pay attention to fruit and peace: God's will produces inward peace and outward fruit (Colossians 3:15)
How to Live God's Will for Your Life
Knowing His will is only part of the journey. Living it is where the fruit comes.
To live God’s will, we must commit to daily obedience, moment-by-moment surrender, and Spirit-filled endurance.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6
Living God’s will is about faithfulness. It’s about showing up when it’s hard, standing when others fall away, and choosing eternal purpose over temporary success.
Especially for professionals and leaders, living God's will may look like:
Leading with humility instead of self-promotion
Choosing integrity over convenience
Pursuing excellence without losing compassion
Letting your faith inform your decisions not just your Sunday morning
The more surrendered you are, the more God will trust you with.
Your influence can be a light, your diligence a testimony, and your life a reflection of His kingdom.
Wherever you are in life right now, whether you’re working in an office, launching a new business, managing a household, or starting a new project, you have an opportunity to live for Christ right where you are. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison: “If only I had their platform… their position… their opportunities…” But God isn’t looking for your ideal circumstance. He’s looking for your faithful stewardship of what He’s already placed in your hands.
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” Colossians 3:23
Jesus calls us not only to believe but to shine.
“You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13–14
Salt preserves, influences, and adds value. Light reveals, leads, and brings clarity. When Jesus spoke those words, He was affirming your calling to transform the atmosphere—not just in pulpits or churches, but in boardrooms, coffee shops, emails, conversations, spreadsheets, and the little things that no one else sees. That includes how you communicate with grace (Ephesians 4:29), how you remain disciplined in your work (Proverbs 12:24), how you steward your resources (Luke 16:10), and how you treat others with integrity (Philippians 2:14–15).
Let your workplace or project space become a mission field of excellence and compassion. Use the gifts God has given you: leadership, creativity, wisdom, discernment and at the end of the day, may we long to hear the words:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
Shine where you are. Be the salt in your sphere. Because God placed you there on purpose.
