A New Month, A Renewed Strength

The Christian Professional Journal is here to offer faith-based insights and encouragement to help you navigate work and life with purpose. Together, we’ll explore how to keep Faith First, Excellence Always, as we grow and walk boldly in God’s calling.

Welcome to a new month.

Another page turned, another step forward, another opportunity to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen and eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). And if we’re honest, some seasons don’t feel like fresh beginnings. They feel more like battles we’ve been fighting for too long. Fatigue creeps in. Questions linger. And hope sometimes flickers rather than burns.

But this month, I want to encourage you in one word: Perseverance.

Perseverance often happens in the quiet corners of life, when you choose to pray again, when you choose to show up again, when you speak truth over your life even when your emotions resist.

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12

Scripture is filled with those who endured because they trusted the One who is.

Think of Job who lost everything yet refused to curse God. Think of Paul who was beaten, shipwrecked, and imprisoned but still declared, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

And then think of Jesus.

His entire ministry was marked by perseverance. He endured rejection by His hometown (Luke 4:24), opposition from religious leaders (John 8:59), betrayal by a close friend (Luke 22:48), denial by another (Luke 22:61), and abandonment by nearly all His followers (Mark 14:50).

Yet He continued.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed in agony (Luke 22:44). He cried out, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)

This is where perseverance meets surrender.

Jesus endured false accusations, humiliation, beatings, and the pain of the cross as He bore the weight of sin for us all. He could have called down angels to stop it (Matthew 26:53). But He didn’t.

He endured.

Why? Because of the joy set before Him. Because of you. Because of me. Because He saw the eternal glory on the other side of temporary suffering.

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1–2

This is the call of every believer. To finish well. To trust that what God has started, He is faithful to complete (Philippians 1:6).

So if you find yourself weary, know that you’re not alone. The Lord is with you.

This month, choose to persevere. Not by might. Not by power. But by His will and His Spirit.

And if you’re looking for a resource to anchor you deeper in truth this month, I’d love to invite you to explore Sin the Great Joker.
